On the road
I’m back
Posted in On the road on August 18th, 2009 by Daniel Keyes – Be the first to commentMade it back from my road trip safe and sound. It was an incredible experience. I didn’t end up writing any posts while I was gone because there was just too much going on – I have so many stories to tell.
So stay tuned. I’ll be spending the next little while going through the thousands of pictures we took and writing up some of my stories.

Here's the travel crew. On the far right is my cousin Andrew, who I started the trip with in Toronto. Next to him is Martin from the Czech Republic – we met him in Lake Louise and he travelled with us for about a month. To the left of him is Dunbar – we met him in Corvallis, Oregon and he came to San Francisco with us. And finally, on the far left is Dan – he's Andrew's long-time friend who met up with us in Vancouver and joined us for the rest of the trip. These guys were awesome – more on that later.
Hitting the road
Posted in On the road on June 25th, 2009 by Daniel Keyes – Be the first to commentI’ve been craving an epic adventure for quite some time now. Tomorrow it finally begins.
I’ll be backpacking across North America with my cousin, Andrew. I leave Toronto tomorrow and will be meeting him in Winnipeg. We each have a two-month Greyhound discovery pass that gives us access to pretty much anywhere on the continent. We don’t have much of a plan other than to head west for BC, follow the west coast down to the southern States, maybe dip into Mexico, and head back up to Canada along the east coast. Since neither of us have much money, we’ll be getting as much sleep on the bus as possible, and sharing a small tent. We’ll stay in hostels as rarely as possible. We may even give dumpster diving a shot.
I don’t know exactly when I’ll be back – depends when I run out of money. But in the mean time, keep checking my blog. I’ll be updating with my iPhone as much as possible.
